Privacy policy

Protecting your data matters to us. This page explains what data is processed when you visit tripprice.info, why, and what rights you have.

Hosting and server logs

The website runs on our own server in Austria. We use Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) as a content delivery network (CDN) and for protection against attacks. Cloudflare relays page requests and in doing so sees technically necessary connection data such as the IP address. For transfers to the USA Cloudflare relies on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

When you open a page our server briefly stores technical data in log files: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and operating system. This serves the security and stability of the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after 14 days.

Audience measurement with Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Ireland) to measure how tripprice.info is used, for example which pages are viewed. This serves audience measurement only. For this, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_X7K18FB820 and receives details such as the page viewed, device, browser and approximate location. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. Data is kept for 14 months (as set in our account) and may also be transferred to the USA. Google's advertising features are switched off on our site.

For visitors from the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom we measure with cookies only after you have agreed in the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Until then Google Analytics sets no cookies, although page views without a cookie identifier may be sent to Google. We store your choice for 12 months in the cookie tp_consent. You can change or withdraw it at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page; processing carried out until then remains lawful. For visitors from other countries we measure without a banner.

The cookie "tp_uid"

We set a single technical cookie named tp_uid. It contains a randomly generated identifier with no link to you as a person. We use it to pass search requests on to our price partner KAYAK and to limit abuse, such as automated bulk queries. The cookie lasts 1 year and can be deleted in your browser at any time. It is technically required for the search function and is therefore allowed without consent (section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Partner service Travelpayouts and the cookie "tp_consent"

A script from Travelpayouts (Travelpayouts, Estonia) may be embedded on the home page; it attributes clicks on travel providers to our partner programme. For visitors from the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom we load this script only after you have agreed in the cookie banner. The legal basis is then your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We store your choice for 12 months in the cookie "tp_consent" (value p1 = agreed, p0 = declined); it contains no personal data. You can withdraw or give your consent at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page; processing carried out until then remains lawful. Without your consent nothing from Travelpayouts is loaded.

Search and sharing with KAYAK

When you search for flights, hotels or car hire on tripprice.info, we pass your search request on to KAYAK (KAYAK Software Corporation, USA). In doing so we transmit your IP address and browser identifier (user agent). KAYAK requires these details for fraud protection and to fend off automated queries. The transfer happens only when you run a search and is necessary to show the results (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). KAYAK processes the data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

Partner links and provider cookies

Many links on tripprice.info are partner links, for example via Awin, CJ Affiliate, KAYAK and daily cashback. When you click such a link, the page of the provider or partner network opens. There the provider sets its own cookies so that a booking can be attributed to our referral. We have no influence on these cookies. The provider's privacy notice explains which data is processed. For cashback through daily cashback, daily cashback's privacy notice also applies.

Contact by email or phone

If you write to us, we process your details to handle the request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. We delete the data once the request is dealt with and no statutory retention duties apply.

Travelpayouts (affiliate programme)

Our home page includes a script from Travelpayouts (loaded from emrld.ltd). It assigns clicks on travel providers to our partner account and may convert links to travel providers into affiliate links. When the page loads, technical data such as IP address, browser identifier and the page visited are sent to Travelpayouts. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the settlement of commissions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). More information can be found in the Travelpayouts privacy policy.
