Tiqets vs GetYourGuide: Where Are Tours and Tickets Cheaper?

Tiqets vs GetYourGuide compared, status October 2026: booking fee, cancellation deadline, payment, best-price promise and who each provider suits.

Tiqets vs GetYourGuide: where are tours and tickets cheaper? Both sell admissions and activities run by others, and the price of the same ticket moves with date, time and operator. So there is no fixed winner. What counts are terms you can read before buying: fees, cancellation deadline, payment. We would look at Tiqets first because free cancellation is set per ticket and a possible booking fee shows in the order overview. GetYourGuide gets a neutral place beside it. Status October 2026.

Price and fees

Tiqets explains in its help centre that the ticket price of some attractions changes with season, weekday and time of day, much like airfares. For most venues there is no booking fee. For some there is, and then it appears as Booking fee in the order overview. According to Tiqets it covers payment processing, customer service seven days a week and the charges of its suppliers. Discounts at Tiqets are personal and only valid as promo codes issued by Tiqets or its official partners, so codes from elsewhere are not accepted.

GetYourGuide states in its terms that the displayed price and the amount at checkout include the commission the operator pays to GetYourGuide. What you pay is the displayed price minus any discounts. GetYourGuide does not issue a tax invoice; on request you can get a payment confirmation. Your payment provider may add fees of its own.

Cancellation and refunds

At Tiqets you can add free cancellation to each ticket. Then you can cancel without giving a reason until 23:59 on the day before your visit, in the app or through the link in the confirmation. Without that option everything follows the rules of the venue, shown on the product page. Refunds continue to your bank or card issuer. For iDEAL payments Tiqets expects about two working days, for credit or debit cards two to seven.

GetYourGuide advertises free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. The exact deadline is shown for each activity in the booking step, including the time until you can cancel for a full refund. For operator cancellations or delays GetYourGuide says it is not responsible for refunds. If you want money back outside the cancellation rules you can ask customer service.

Payment and price promise

Tiqets supports many payment methods, including PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, iDEAL, Bancontact and the usual cards. Which ones come first depends on the language version of the site.

GetYourGuide offers reserve now and pay later on selected activities. You need a credit card that stays valid until the activity date. The booking is confirmed with a zero-amount charge, and the price is debited 72 hours before the start. If that fails you have 47 hours to pay yourself, otherwise the booking is cancelled. On top there is a best-price promise: if you find the same activity with the same operator for less and can prove it, GetYourGuide pays the difference. Member-only offers from loyalty programmes and company rates do not count.

Who suits what

Tiqets suits you if you buy admissions for museums, parks and sights and want the cancellation deadline in your own hands. If your travel dates are still open, add free cancellation and you have until the evening before. That is our pick for city breaks with tickets.

GetYourGuide suits you if you want a guided tour or experience and would rather pay later. The best-price promise can also pay off if you spot the same slot with the same operator for less and have proof.

For both: put the same attraction, day and time side by side and read the cancellation condition before you click. A museum card or city pass can reduce or replace the admission, so check that with the venue.

Cashback at Tiqets

Tiqets is listed as a shop at daily cashback. The Tiqets page states which rate currently applies, and you buy your tickets within that one session. Our provider page sums up the portal, and the Tiqets guide has notes on payment and cancellation. GetYourGuide is not among our shops.
