In Antalya the advertised hotel price is usually close to what you pay. There is no tourist tax per person and night, so you pay nothing extra on arrival. The airport transfer, however, is worth comparing.
No tourist tax, nothing extra
Turkey has no tourist tax like Italy or Spain. The national accommodation tax is already included in the room price, so nothing is added on the spot.
From the airport to the centre and the resorts
- Havaş airport bus: about 4 EUR (roughly 220 TRY) per person into the city.
- AntRay tram and local bus: the cheapest option, usually under 2 EUR per person. The tram takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on where you get off.
- Metered taxi: about 13 EUR to Lara, similar to the old town (Kaleiçi).
- Private transfer at a fixed price: about 20 to 40 EUR per vehicle, depending on destination and provider.
The resort areas of Belek, Side and Alanya are much farther away. A fixed price booked in advance is safer than a taxi meter over 40 to 120 kilometres. Lira prices move with inflation, which is why we show euro guide values.
Renting a car in Antalya
Most companies want a credit card in the main driver's name for the deposit, and debit or prepaid cards are often refused. A minimum age of 21 and two years of driving experience are common. Full cover without excess saves arguments over scratches. See our guide on deposits, excess and fuel policy for more.
