Aviasales vs Kiwi.com: where are flights cheaper? Both are sites where you can collect cashback through us, and yet they work in very different ways. Aviasales shows tickets and sends you to the seller. Kiwi.com sells the trip itself and also links single flights into one route to do so. Which one costs less on your route only a search with your dates can tell. Our suggestion to begin with is Aviasales, since you see airline and agency prices side by side and can filter out fares without baggage. Kiwi.com is the addition for routes where combined flights save money. Status: October 2026; we read the help sections of both.
Two models
Aviasales says it does not sell tickets and adds nothing to the sellers' prices. After you press Buy you pay on the page of an airline or agency, where your booking then sits.
Kiwi.com is the seller itself. It places the reservation with the airlines on your behalf and manages it, so airline messages and in part refunds run through Kiwi.com. That gives you one central contact but can lengthen refunds, since the money has to be passed on first.
Final price
On Aviasales you compare sellers and fares in a single list. A calendar marks cheap days, filters hide fares without baggage. The amount you finally pay comes from the seller and may include charges for extras there.
On Kiwi.com the price looks different. Depending on your choices it adds the Kiwi.com Guarantee, baggage and seats, as well as fees for later changes. Anyone who only looks at the entry price is not comparing like with like. Check which services each total contains.
Cancelling and changing
At Aviasales the seller handles everything. Whether you can get a refund or an exchange is decided by the fare and the airline's rules, and a few fares exclude both. The seller's name is on the itinerary receipt.
Kiwi.com has three ticket types. Saver offers no rebooking. Pick Standard or Flexi and a change costs only the difference. On a Flexi ticket you get 80 percent back of the price for flights and airline extras, but not Kiwi.com's own fees. You can change or cancel until 48 hours before the trip. If you neither fly nor cancel, you can try a refund from the airline. After 10 months Kiwi.com otherwise claims it itself and keeps a fee of 59 euros from it. A free 24-hour window is offered neither by most airlines nor by Kiwi.com.
Payment
With Aviasales the seller decides on payment methods. At Kiwi.com they are card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Revolut Pay, online bank transfer and PIX, depending on region and currency. A discount code is entered at Kiwi.com in the last step before paying. Money back can sit with Kiwi.com as credit and be used on later bookings.
Bonus, loyalty and service
On Aviasales you collect points and bonuses through the respective seller. Kiwi.com mentions a refer-a-friend scheme and credit as a payment method. On service the two differ clearly: Aviasales can be reached by email, but you change the ticket with the seller. Kiwi.com has round-the-clock chat with the Guarantee and answers a message to an agent within 3 hours.
Small peculiarities
Both show routes that an airline alone does not offer. On Aviasales these are connections you spot by the symbols for long layovers and night stops. Kiwi.com builds journeys out of single tickets, where airlines answer only for their own flight. Hidden City and Throwaway Ticketing are part of its offer too and can breach airline conditions.
How to compare the two cleanly
- Search the same route with the same dates on both sites and note the total only at the last step.
- Decide what you need: checked baggage, a seat, a rebooking option. Add these items on both sides.
- On Kiwi.com, see whether the route consists of several separate tickets, and then leave enough time to change.
