LOT Polish Airlines is the Polish airline with its hub in Warsaw, and on lot.com you book its flights directly. The airline is worth a look for trips to Poland and Eastern Europe, and for connecting passengers heading from Europe on to Asia or North America. Booking directly with LOT puts fare conditions and baggage rules in one place.
What you can book there
The focus is flights, as return, one-way or multi-city. On the British site you see examples such as London to Warsaw, Bucharest, Vilnius or Delhi. Around the trip there are extras: hotel, car rental, activities, airport transfer, visa and eSIM, plus upgrade, extra baggage and seat selection in the booking manager. LOT is part of Miles & More, so you can collect miles.
What a booking really costs
With flights, baggage decides the real price. LOT splits the rules by route: short and medium-haul flights (Poland, Europe, the Middle East including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Central Asia) have their own rules, and long-haul flights from and to China, India, Japan, Canada, South Korea and the USA have others. Some offers show a price with carry-on baggage only, like the example fares on the home page. For checked baggage you then need a different fare or must add it. So read what your fare includes in the booking flow and compare the total with baggage, not the headline price.
If you pay with a corporate card, a surcharge for that card type may apply. It is not refunded if you get money back.
Cancellation and payment
LOT offers free cancellation within 24 hours of purchase, even on a non-refundable fare. Several conditions must be met: it is an individual ticket bought on lot.com or through the Contact Center, the ticket number starts with 080, and at least 24 hours remain before the first flight departs. The refund is processed within 7 days. If you only want to change the date, you can rebook once within 24 hours: if the same fare is available it is free, otherwise you pay just the fare difference with the change fee waived. This does not apply to tickets that have already been exchanged, and if you bought through a travel agency you ask them. Outside this window everything depends on your fare, so check the conditions before paying.
Check-in and travel day
Online check-in opens 36 hours before scheduled departure. At some airports, including Dubrovnik, Podgorica, Skopje, Split, Tirana and Zadar, it is only available on the local airport site. If you fly from Baku or Athens, you choose your seat in online check-in and then go to the counter, where documents are checked and you get a boarding pass with a QR code. Allow a little extra time for that. If your flight is cancelled or delayed by at least two hours, ask at the check-in counter or gate for the text on your passenger rights.
How to save
Flexible dates are the biggest lever. It also pays to add baggage and seat to the calculation right at booking. You can also collect cashback through daily cashback. You can see the current rate and current vouchers and deals on our provider page. The flight search has a field for a discount code. If you have one, check beforehand whether you can combine it with the cashback, and follow the notes on our provider page.
Booking with cashback
Cashback runs through daily cashback. Here is how it works:
- Open the daily cashback store page for LOT Global.
- Click through from there to LOT Global.
- Book as usual, in the same browser and without interruption.
- Complete the booking and keep the confirmation.
The cashback is credited once the trip is confirmed.
Tips
- Compare the price with checked baggage, not the carry-on-only price.
- Use the 24-hour window if you booked the wrong thing.
- Check the baggage rules for your route, as short and long haul differ.
- Check in online as early as possible, it opens 36 hours before departure.
- Keep the booking confirmation until after the trip and the credit.
You can see the current cashback rate, as well as current vouchers and deals, on the LOT Global provider page at TripPrice. You book directly with LOT Global.
