Lidl Reisen is the travel portal of the German retailer Lidl. It offers package holidays, round trips, hotels, cruises and short experience breaks, often tied to the brochure that also lies in the stores. It suits people who like to see a price at a glance and prefer a real person on the phone when something is unclear. The site and the service are in German.
What you can book
The home page sorts the offers into package holidays, round trips, hotels, cruises, holiday rentals and winter breaks. On top come the Experiences: short trips with a hotel night and a ticket, for example for a musical in Hamburg or a thermal spa. Some trips are for your own arrival, others come from partners such as TUI. One thing matters: Lidl Reisen acts as an intermediary. Your contract is with the tour operator, and its terms are linked on the site under the travel provider terms.
What the booking really costs
The prices on the home page are starting prices per person and night, marked with an asterisk. The real total depends on departure date, room, meal plan and the number of travellers. Always compare the sum in the last booking step, not the number on the tile.
- Travel protection is offered during checkout, and the site recommends taking out travel insurance. It comes on top of the trip price.
- Changes after booking, such as correcting a traveller name, usually cost money. Check the spelling before you click the final button.
- Several rooms can only be booked by phone.
Cancellation and payment
Once you click the final pay button, the trip is binding. After that, cancelling may only be possible for a fee under the operator terms. Changes and cancellations go through the service centre, by phone or by e-mail. If you book by phone you can ask for an option booking: for three working days you can change or cancel free of charge, then the booking becomes firm. Ask the team for it, they will not always offer it.
How and when you pay is stated on the invoice the operator sends after booking. The payment method can only be changed later by agreeing it with the service centre.
How to save
Offers change with the brochure, and the campaign pages such as top offers or TUI offers show what is reduced right now. We currently have no coupons for Lidl Reisen. You can check the cashback rate on our provider page, as it can differ by type of trip. Keep three things in mind: empty your cart and start over via the daily cashback link, switch off ad blockers and tracking protection, and use only coupon codes that are listed on daily cashback. External codes can void the cashback.
Booking with cashback
The cashback runs through daily cashback. Here is how to go about it:
- Open the daily cashback store page for Lidl Reisen.
- Click through to Lidl Reisen and start your booking from scratch.
- Book as usual and finish everything in one go, in the same browser.
The credit arrives once the trip is confirmed.
Who Lidl Reisen is for
The portal suits people who have a fixed travel date and want to compare hotel, meals and travel as one package. If you prefer to assemble flight and accommodation yourself, compare with the separate prices as well, because a package is not automatically cheaper. For families, the room split deserves a look, since several rooms can only be booked by phone. Plan some time for that call and have the names of all travellers ready exactly as they appear on the passports.
Tips
- Check entry requirements with your government before booking, each traveller is responsible for passport and visa.
- Travel documents usually arrive at the latest one week before departure.
- Seat selection and upgrades depend on airline and fare and go through the service centre.
- Keep the booking confirmation and invoice until the trip and the cashback credit are done.
