Bee Parking Heathrow is a park-and-ride provider near London Heathrow Airport. You leave the car at a site outside the airport and take a free shuttle to the terminal. It is a cheaper alternative to parking directly at the airport, but it comes with a few rules that you should know before booking.
What you can book there
The provider sells one product: parking at its site for the length of your trip, including the shuttle to the terminal and back. You drive to the site, which the FAQ says takes about 10 to 15 minutes from the airport, hand over the car and board the shuttle. After landing and passport control you go to the shuttle stop, marked by signs or in your confirmation email, and collect your car at the site.
What a booking really costs
The parking price is not the whole amount. The fee Heathrow charges for entering the terminal drop-off zone is not included in the price and is paid separately. The provider points this out during booking. Include it when you compare with other car parks, especially if the other provider already has it in its price.
On top come charges for deviations from your booked plan, listed in the terms: late arrival costs 20 pounds per day, an early return 20 pounds per occurrence and a return outside standard hours 30 pounds. If you stay longer than booked, you pay the applicable daily rate. Also phone in if your flight is delayed. If you do not and the driver is waiting, you pay 15 pounds for the waiting time. A grace period is built in, so a call helps.
Cancellation and payment
Full payment is due before the parking period begins. On a direct booking, a cancellation more than 48 hours before the start may cost a 15 pound administration fee. Within 48 hours there is no refund, and the same goes for a no-show. If you booked through a portal or agent, its cancellation rules apply, not those of the car park. Payment is encrypted, and the provider says it does not keep card details after the payment.
How to save
Compared with parking right at the airport, you save money if you accept the extra time for the shuttle. Allow a little more time on both the outbound and the return trip. Current vouchers and deals are listed on our provider page. On top of that, going through daily cashback pays you cashback.
Ask yourself before booking whether the time and effort suit you: you drive to the site, wait for the shuttle and have to return there after landing. On night flights, the surcharge for a late return is an item you must not forget in a price comparison. Everyone should read the terms before paying, since locations, surcharges and liability are described there in more detail than in the FAQ.
Tips
- Your car must be roadworthy, with a valid MOT, tax and insurance. Otherwise the provider can refuse the service.
- Photograph the car at drop-off and collection, and check it on return before you leave the site. Damage reports have to be made promptly.
- According to the terms, cars may be moved between locations, and not every location has the same facilities. The car is parked at your own risk, and liability for proven damage caused by negligence is limited to 750 pounds per incident.
- Do not leave valuables in the car.
- If no confirmation email arrives, check your spam folder or the My Booking area on the website.
Booking with cashback
The cashback runs through daily cashback. Open the daily cashback store page for Bee Parking Heathrow first, click through to the provider from there and then book as usual on its own site. The credit arrives once the booking is confirmed and the trip is completed.
You can see the current cashback rate on our Bee Parking Heathrow provider page at TripPrice. Current vouchers and deals are listed on that page as well, along with the cashback conditions.
