Flibco: what the airport shuttle bus really costs you

Flibco explained: prices, luggage, cancellation and child rules for the airport shuttle, plus the Munich to Memmingen voucher and daily cashback cashback.

Flibco runs shuttle buses between cities and airports served by low-cost airlines. It suits anyone who wants to reach the airport cheaply without a taxi or rental car, for example from Munich to Memmingen, from London to Stansted or from Milan to Bergamo and Malpensa. What matters is knowing the rules of your particular line, because they differ.

What you can book

On the site you book tickets for shuttle buses on routes in several countries. Mentioned are connections in Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Italy, including Munich and Memmingen, London and Stansted, Brussels Zaventem and Charleroi, and Milan with Bergamo and Malpensa. On board there is Wi-Fi, charging and plenty of legroom, according to the site. Timetables and stops have their own sections.

What the ride really costs

  • Book online: Tickets from the driver cost more than online, and the driver sells one-way tickets only, subject to availability. Buy ahead.
  • Fares on some lines: The Brussels Midi and Charleroi line has three fares. The cheapest is non-refundable and non-changeable, the middle one is non-refundable but changeable, and the top one is refundable and changeable with insurance.
  • Children: For every adult ticket, one child under four can travel free if you add the child when booking. On the Budapest line this does not apply, as the child price equals the adult price.
  • Discounts: According to the FAQ, there are currently no discounts for students, seniors or people with reduced mobility.

Luggage

You may take one piece of hand luggage up to 10 kg measuring 35 x 20 x 20 cm and one piece in the hold up to 25 kg measuring 55 x 85 x 40 cm. On lines to and from Brussels Zaventem and Charleroi, three pieces are allowed in the hold, and on the Brussels Midi and Charleroi line the number depends on the fare. All wheeled bags must go in the hold regardless of size. Valuables such as cash, jewellery, electronics and ID belong in your hand luggage.

Cancellation and payment

On most lines you can cancel or change up to six hours before departure, in your account under planned trips. On some lines tickets are valid for the whole day, and there cancellation has to happen at least a day ahead. A promo code created after a cancellation or payment error is valid for twelve months. You can pay without a credit card, with PayPal or Amazon Pay.

How to save

For Munich to Memmingen a promo code is listed on our site, which you find on the provider page. Use the cashback as well and book online rather than on the bus. If you travel in a group, compare quickly with train or taxi, because with several people a taxi can be cheaper, though rarely for one person.

Tips

  • According to the FAQ, allow about 30 minutes for flights within the Schengen area and up to 60 minutes for flights outside it before check-in closes, and more is better.
  • The timetable is updated twice a year, in autumn towards the end of October and in spring towards the end of March. So trips cannot always be booked far ahead.
  • Print the ticket or save it on your phone.
  • Misspelled name? As long as date and time are right, you usually need not change anything, says the FAQ.

Who it is for

The bus is a cheap solution above all for solo travellers and couples who do not want to park a car at the airport. It is less flexible than a taxi because you stick to the timetable. So build in a buffer, especially for early morning flights, and read the rules of your line before you pay.

Booking with cashback

The cashback runs through daily cashback. First open the daily cashback store page for Flibco, continue from there to the provider and book as usual. The credit arrives once the trip is confirmed. You can see the current rate on our provider page at TripPrice.
