Adrenaline: what a US experience really costs

Adrenaline experiences in the USA: fees, the 72-hour cancellation rule, Flex option, gift certificates and how to earn cashback through daily cashback.

Adrenaline is a US provider of experiences and gift certificates: skydiving, helicopter rides, balloon flights, race car drives, boat tours and much more, all across the USA. It is interesting if you want to fit a highlight into a US trip, such as a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon, or if you need a gift that the other person can redeem themselves.

What you can book there

The site lists more than 1,600 experiences, sorted into categories like driving, flying, helicopter tours, land adventures and water experiences. You search by place, date or activity. There are also gift certificates, which arrive instantly by email or ship by post in a metal box. A certificate can be used for any experience on the site, and you decide its value.

What a booking really costs

The prices on the tiles, such as skydiving from 139 US dollars or helicopter rides from 89 US dollars, are starting prices. The final price depends on location, duration and date. According to the terms, prices include applicable taxes. A processing and administration fee is added to each confirmed booking, which you only see during checkout. So expect a small markup on the list price.

Posting a gift certificate also costs something when the order is under 199 US dollars, since only above that is express shipping free. If you print the certificate yourself, you avoid that. One more point for travellers: many experiences start away from your hotel, so the way there (rental car, parking, taxi) comes on top.

Cancellation and payment

Bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 72 hours before the scheduled time unless the product says otherwise. After that there is no refund. The processing fee is not refundable under the terms. For a surcharge you can upgrade a booking to Adrenaline Flex. It lets you cancel for any reason until the confirmed arrival time, for instance because of weather, illness or a change of plans, and you get the full retail value back. The Flex fee itself is not refunded, and Flex does not apply to no-shows.

If the experience provider cancels because of weather, equipment or too few participants, you are first offered a new date. If that does not work, you can choose credit, a gift certificate or a refund to the original payment method, which the terms say happens within 7 business days. Some experiences have stricter rules and are non-refundable. This is shown in the experience details, and Flex is not offered for them.

How to save

The home page often shows discounts per category and occasionally a promo code for checkout. On top of that, going through daily cashback pays cashback. If you pay with a voucher code, a different cashback rate may apply than without one, so check our provider page. Gift certificates can be returned free of charge within 14 days of purchase.

Tips

  • Read the details of each experience on weight, age and health. Before taking part you sign an acknowledgement of risk, and a parent does so if you are under 18.
  • The experience provider decides about the weather, not you. For helicopter and balloon flights, plan a spare day.
  • If you do not show up, the booking counts as redeemed, with no money or credit back.
  • Changes such as rescheduling or transferring to another person may come with fees from the experience provider.

Booking with cashback

The cashback runs through daily cashback. Open the daily cashback store page for Adrenaline Inc first, click through to the provider from there and then book as usual on its own site. The credit arrives once the booking is confirmed and the trip is completed.

You can see the current cashback rate on our Adrenaline Inc provider page at TripPrice. Current vouchers and deals are listed on that page as well, along with the cashback conditions.
