Virgin Voyages is a cruise line that takes only adults on board. The ships sail to destinations such as the Caribbean, Europe, Alaska and the Mexican Riviera. It is interesting for anyone who wants a cruise without children and likes to know up front what the price covers.
What you can book
You book sea voyages on one of the four ships of the fleet. Destinations range from the Caribbean with the Beach Club at Bimini through Europe and Scandinavia to Alaska and transatlantic routes. You can add shore excursions through the cruise line. Prices are shown in several currencies, including US dollars, euros and pounds.
What the booking really costs
Virgin Voyages advertises a price that includes things that cost extra on other ships. The home page names Wi-Fi, all dining in more than 20 eateries, soda and water as well as tea and drip coffee, plus fitness classes and the entertainment on board. Prices are quoted per sailor, meaning per guest.
What is not in that list you should check yourself during checkout: alcoholic drinks, shore excursions, spa treatments and the casino. Taxes, port fees and gratuities are another point to check in the last step. The total there is what counts, not the price on the tile.
Cancellation and payment
Cancellation terms depend on the voyage and the offer you choose. Before booking, check the conditions for deposit, final payment and withdrawal, especially for promotional prices, which often come with their own rules. The cruise line keeps separate pages for promotion terms. Travel insurance is a sensible thought if you book early, because dates on a cruise cannot simply be moved.
How to save
The site lists time-limited promotions, for example a discount for the second person in the cabin. Such offers expire, so check until when they apply. We currently have no coupons for Virgin Voyages. You can see the current cashback rate on our provider page. Switch off your ad blocker and tracking protection for the booking and start from the daily cashback link, even if you have looked at the voyage before.
Booking with cashback
The cashback runs through daily cashback. Here is how to go about it:
- Open the daily cashback store page for Virgin Voyages.
- Click through to Virgin Voyages and start your booking from scratch.
- Book as usual and finish everything in one go, in the same browser.
The credit arrives once the trip is confirmed.
Who Virgin Voyages is for
The line suits couples and groups of friends who want to travel on a ship without children. If you value an inclusive package, you can compare the price with a classic cruise where Wi-Fi, restaurants and fitness are counted separately. Work out both versions completely so the comparison stays fair. Families with children are not the target group here.
Before you leave
Plan your arrival at the departure port with a buffer, ideally arriving the day before so that a delayed flight does not cost you the ship. Check that your passport is valid for long enough and bring a copy of the booking confirmation. For onboard spending outside the package you usually need a payment card. If you have never been at sea, think beforehand whether seasickness could be an issue, and choose a cabin in the middle of the ship, where the motion is smallest.
On an adults-only cruise it is also worth clarifying before booking that every traveller meets the minimum age. That applies to guests shortly before a birthday too, because the age on the day of travel counts.
Tips
- Compare cabin categories and check whether the location on the ship suits you.
- In the last step, check which fees come on top of the per-person price.
- Put shore excursions and drinks into your budget.
- Keep the confirmation until after the trip and the cashback credit.
